• Deep Excavation Surface Settlement Database (324 Cases, China) This open dataset contains 324 published deep excavation cases collected from across China to support research on excavation-induced ground surface settlement. The database comprises geological parameters, engineering conditions, hydrogeological information, and two target outputs: the maximum surface settlement and its corresponding location. Data collection. A systematic literature search was conducted using the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Web of Science (WoS), with search terms combining "deep excavation", "foundation pit", "surface settlement", and "ground deformation". No restriction was imposed on the publication year to maximize case coverage. Inclusion criteria. A case was included if (1) the excavation was located in China; (2) measured surface settlement data were available; (3) sufficient information on geological conditions, excavation geometry, retaining systems, or hydrogeological conditions was reported; and (4) the maximum settlement value and its corresponding location could be identified. Studies lacking essential parameters or duplicating previously reported projects were excluded. Quality control. All records were cross-checked by project name, construction location, excavation type, and reported engineering information. Cases reported in multiple publications were merged into a single record, and different excavation stages, monitoring sections, or sides of the same project were not treated as separate samples. Each record thus represents one independent excavation project.
