Data description:

  • Rockshape‑DSX (Part 1) is currently the largest‑scale 3D geometric dataset of real‑world rockfill particles, targeting mesoscale numerical simulation for rock‑fill dam and rock‑filled concrete engineering. High‑fidelity 3D mesh models of massive blasted rockfill grains are reconstructed via multi‑view photogrammetry, preserving original angular features, surface asperities and full 3D morphological details for engineering‑relevant particle size ranges. This dataset provides abundant real rockfill particles collected from in‑situ hydraulic engineering sites. Each particle is annotated with comprehensive morphological descriptors including sphericity, convexity, elongation index, flatness, volume and surface area. It supports particle‑shape statistical analysis, DEM simulation, deep‑learning‑driven 3D rock generation, and morphology‑mechanical‑property correlation research.Compared with small‑scale laboratory datasets, Rockshape‑DSX reflects the natural shape distribution of practical dam‑building rockfill materials. It mitigates the limitation of insufficient real‑world particle samples and geometry oversimplification in existing granular‑material research, and serves as a large‑scale real‑data benchmark for granular simulation, generative modeling of 3D rock fragments and rockfill mechanical investigation.
